About
Welcome to Omino, an exquisite yakitori restaurant that redefines the art of grilled chicken in the heart of Tokyo's Minato City. Nestled at 3 Chome171 Tokyu Reit 虎ノ門ビル, Omino invites diners to embark on a culinary journey with its omakase-style offerings that change with the seasons. The atmosphere pulses with excitement as chefs expertly grill each piece of chicken, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience marked by balance and flavor.
Each review paints a picture of Omino's innovative approach to yakitori. Customers rave about the masterful grilling where even the lesser-known parts of the chicken are elevated to perfection. From gullet and neck to the sought-after tsukune, every bite showcases the chef's skill and dedication to quality. The house sauce, or tare, marinated into each piece adds a depth of flavor that encapsulates the essence of traditional Japanese cuisine while providing a unique twist.
What sets Omino apart is its commitment to balance. Diners are treated to delicate daikon-oroshi that acts as a palate cleanser, perfectly countering the richness of the fatty meats. This thoughtful consideration ensures that each course remains a delightful surprise, with vegetable skewers sparking excitement alongside the main attractions.
Customer service at Omino receives high praise, with attentive staff who manage to deliver dishes with impeccable timing. However, prospective diners should note that making a reservation can be challenging, often requiring weeks or even months in advance, due to the restaurant’s popularity. Although some guests have mentioned the need for improved ventilation in the bustling environment, the sheer quality of food and service often overshadows these minor drawbacks.
At Omino, every meal is not just about eating; it's about experiencing a blend of textures, flavors, and the artistry of grilling that awakens the palate. With each visit, you can expect an evolving menu that reflects the best of seasonal ingredients, ensuring that there is always something new to discover. Whether you are a yakitori aficionado or a curious newcomer, Omino promises a dining adventure that is anything but ordinary.
As you step into this culinary haven, prepare yourself for an extraordinary meal that will linger in your memory long after the last bite—an invitation to return again and again.
“ I have never thought yakitori could be cooked to this level of balanced and flavorful. Each piece is grilled and seasoned individually to perfection. Incredible small dishes scattered between, many have unique and distinct flavors that I haven't thought about. In general it brings uniqueness and innovative dining experience and flavor profile to me. Wish I would have chance to revisit. ”
“ FYI, the location of this restaurant is not accurate on Google map so please be aware of this, it is located on further back in the corner of the said Google location. Food: Omakase style yakitori, menu differs slightly accordingly to season. The selection of meats are all really well cooked. (***Some dishes could come off as undercooked for some people, but the chef’s grilling is master class. You need to be aware that people eat raw chicken as chicken sashimi here in Japan) The balance is amazing as they endlessly refill daikon-oroshi as palate cleanser while serving veggies here and there to balance out the fatty meats. My personal favorites there were Tsukune, Gullet (esophagus), Neck, and Cartilage. Most of the meats are seasoned/marinated with their house sauce (Tare). It is amazing how one can grill all parts of chicken to another level. Customer Service: This is one of the main reasons for making this post. The customer service was amazing as each serving came out with reasonable timing, while the headwaiter did an amazing job in every aspect. Insane multitasking while checking up on every customers for their needs. The reservation is quite the hassle, so make sure to call in advance since there will be like 2-3 months wait before you can dine here. ”
“ Excellent meal - top ingredients and service. The staff made slight modifications for my dietary requirements. I loved the corn appretizer, it is unique to this restaurant. All yakitori was cooked very well, and the vegetable skewers were highlight of the meal as well. The environment was a bit too hot, minimal ventilation, so it was a bit uncomfortable, given the chef grills the yakitori in front of you. They placed several fans to air the room. Hope they can improve the ambient and ventilation to make it a comfortable place to dine. ”
“ 1. visit February 2023: Really good chicken omakase. Enjoyed every piece and love to come back 2nd visit November 2024: food was still very good but the service rush too much. The first time our omakase lasts 16:30-19 and now it was 16:30-18. they cut one hour and were rushing us so much. Every piece came in about 5 minutes. We didn’t have enough time to eat and enjoy the food. Once I received my dessert, the server came already with the card payment device. But besides that, service was good. I just wish we had more time and didn’t get too rush by the server. With this new schedule, I wouldn’t come back. ”
“ Atmosphere is great, booking is easy. Everything are well polished compared to standard yakitori and taste great. Only problem, for me, was they do not have the most interesting part for offer, stew of chicken and egg. ”
“ Had our wedding anniversary celebration at Omino and it was one of the most memorable to date! Apart from traditional yakitori, we enjoyed other types of skewers, 卵かけご飯 or TKG (tamago kake gohan), and a specially-prepared anniversary cake. Watching the chefs work their magic on the grill and eating what they crafted soon after definitely adds to the experience. Everyone at the restaurant was friendly! 10/10 will take friends and family here ”
“ Had some of the best items I’ve ever had here. The grilled onion, chicken heart, chicken throat. Starting with the onion, it was just some simple salt with a char and it brought out the sweetness and savoriness of the onion. I found myself eating one layer at a time just to truly take it all in. The chicken heart was so tender and not chewy at all. They said the reason why is they don’t cut the heart at all and that does the trick. Lastly the throat was somehow fatty and chewy. Such a unique mixture and absolutely amazing. They say they are opening one up in LA soon and I look forward to trying that ”
